#FIGHT4THEAMAZON
The Amazon gives us fresh air to breathe, clean water to drink and life-saving medicine. It is home to magnificent wildlife and millions of indigenous people. There have been over 80,000 fires in the Amazon this past year due to deforestation which continues to threaten this precious eco-system.
PUBG MOBILE partnered with the creative agency Trueheart to create and produce a massive social impact campaign to raise significant funds for the preservation of the Amazon. The world-renowned non-profit Global Green was the beneficiary of PUBG MOBILE’s #Fight4TheAmazon campaign in support of their two-pronged plan to have their team on the ground in Brazil help put out the fires and employ local indigenous farmers to plant healthy saplings to combat the deforestation. PUBG MOBILE teamed up with Omaze, the world’s leading online fundraising platform, to raise funds for Global Green by giving away a Tesla Model S and $20,000 cash.
Actors and humanitarians Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green hosted the campaign and starred in two powerful #Fight4TheAmazon videos and a lighthearted video to promote the Omaze sweepstakes. Brian participated in high profile television, radio, print and online interviews to promote the campaign launch.
PUBG MOBILE hosted a star-studded red carpet event with YouTube star Rebecca Zamolo interviewing celebrity guests about their passion for the cause, as fans from around the world tuned in to live streams on Twitch, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter. Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green faced off in a 4 vs 4 live PUBG MOBILE celebrity match at the event. Nikki Bella, Stephen ‘Twitch’ Boss and PUBG MOBILE influencer Pickles played on Megan’s team, while Artem Chigvintsev, Allison Holker and PUBG MOBILE influencer McCoffee played on Brian’s team. Megan’s team was victorious and presented Global Green with a $100,000 donation from PUBG MOBILE.
At The Game Awards in December, PUBG MOBILE premiered their #Fight4TheAmazon impact video and announced that Global Green will be able to plant 150,000 trees in the Amazon. Inspired by the momentum created by the #Fight4TheAmazon campaign, Global Green committed to planting 100 million trees a year for the next nine years to repopulate the Amazon Rainforest with the 900 million trees that have been lost.
The campaign generated over 2.5 billion impressions through social posts, celebrity endorsements, game marketing and global press coverage and garnered $33 million in earned media. The #Fight4TheAmazon campaign resulted in a halo effect for PUBG MOBILE and positioned their platform as a place where fans can have fun, compete and come together to help save the planet.
